You already know we love dips in my house. So, here is another one. Hummus is a staple in our house. The traditional hummus that is. It has taken me a long time to wrap my head around chocolate in it. This has always been a savory dip, used with vegetables, crackers, or even on a sandwich. How could I possibly enjoy that as a sweet treat. I finally got curious enough to give it a try and it did not disappoint!

This chocolate hummus is a delicious sweet treat. This is definitely one that will satisfy any salty sweet craving you may have. This dip is a fun treat to enjoy with a variety of snacks, sweet fresh fruits or salty crackers. The best part is the added protein from the chickpeas helps to make this little treat a little filling and serves as some good fuel for play!

This recipe couldn't be simpler. Basically, dump all of the ingredients into a blender and pulse until you get the smoothness you desire. If you find the texture to be too thick, simply add a little water at a time and blend again. Don't add too much at a time or you will end up with soup! If you prefer you can use a food processor or inversion blender rather than a traditional blender to puree the ingredients.

Once blended you will to pour into a storage container and then chill for about an hour before you enjoy. This dip can be served as is, or if you are feeling fancy you can top with chocolate chips, coconut shavings, or sunflower seeds. Serve with your favorite fruits, crackers, or even cookies!

This hummus is a great treat served as just a dip but I could also see enjoying it on a slice of toast for breakfast, maybe even in a sandwich with banana slices. There are so many possibilities of ways to enjoy this dip, just you just need to try and play with it!
